After two weeks of feeling more like a machine than human,
this necklace really speaks to me.

Meet Robot 218 from Silent Goddess, one of my favorite sellers on Etsy.
She made my logo into the most gorgeous pendant.
More posts and giveaways to come soon…after I get caught up on emails!

Claire and Huw will be getting married in just a few short days, and I wanted to share with you their incredibly wonderful invitations! The couple wanted to create a vintage/1930s/grand tour of Europe feel. How did they do that? By creating mini suitcases filled with many goodies, including chocolate, luggage tags, and my Passport invite!

From Claire: “We started off with brown flat pack cardboard boxes and covered them with leatherette style sticky back plastic. We had little 3″ leather handles which I attached paper luggage labels with destination and the recipients’ name on it.
We used metal studs for the bottom to make them stand up.
Then we lined them with cotton print fabric using double sided tape to attach.
I then spent about 2 hours cutting a piece of tweed fabric into strips which were used as the straps (more double sided tape!!) and finally I got to stick on my v cool vintage luggage stickers (even more double sided tape!!)
Inside we put our splendid invites and reply cards (everyone loved these!).
All travel documentation was put into envelopes made from italian map scrapbook paper - by Huw) and tied with pink and orange ribbons (the colours of my bouquet).
Everyone got a leather luggage tag and a pink organza bag with Italian chocolates called Baci. These have a little note inside which has a romantic saying or quotation on it.”
Thanks for sharing Claire and Huw!
I know your wedding day will be perfect and sweet!

You have until Monday evening to post a comment, good luck!

A good friend asked me to design a pink cupcake themed invitation for her daughter’s first birthday. I must admit, I didn’t know cupcakes could be so much fun! I mean, yes, they are pretty to look at and even better to eat, but did you know there were so many cupcake favors, toys, jewelry and clothing? Neither did I! The winner of the Guest Organizer is Lissette Florez from Astoria, NY! Congratulations!
Here is a sneak peek at the next giveaway, which will be posted for entries sometime next week. I can promise you that it makes a great gift, but you will probably end up keeping it for yourself!

Original Post:
Forgive me, it has been loooong while since my last post!
Most of my attention and free time has been going to the tiny details of my spring and summer weddings *breathe* and I am now diving into fall! My brides know that I am working hard, even though there maybe a day or two lapse in between emails! For that I apologize. As for 2009 weddings, I am only designing for a few, as I plan on moving into a new studio by the end of the year. Until then, it would be too hard for me to take on many more jobs until I am settled!
So, here some updates for the year:
• I will not be a vendor at Strange Folk, but I hope to see you all there anyway!
• There will be a line of notecards added to my Etsy shop, but that has been postponed for a little while longer.
• The new gallery for my website is still being updated, but you can visit www.beyonddesign.etsy.com for more photos
• Once settled after the move, I will be back to designing with fervor!
This leads me to some exciting news: my first Giveaway!
Since I have been scrambling to stay organized this year, I thought the Wedding Guest Organizer seemed appropriate!
